Purge Challenge: Gorath

Purge is an altar-gated Gorath fight. Break the active Chaos Altar to make Gorath vulnerable, then manage Cleansing Units, Living Magma, projectile waves, and high-level construct charges.

Priority What To Do
1 Open on the Chaos Altar. Gorath starts invulnerable and only becomes vulnerable when the tracked altar dies.
2 Keep Cleansing Units under control. The script can spawn them up to a cap and then calls PURGE on the arena.
3 When Gorath calls out Living Magma targets, move the targeted players and let magma balls expire or reach their cleanup regions.
4 React to STAND STILL and CHARGE callouts. At high levels, kill the Purge Construct before its 25-second charge timer completes.
5 Kill Gorath after the active altar and construct mechanics are handled.
Mechanic What It Means
Chaos Altar gate Gorath is invulnerable at the start. Killing the first active Chaos Altar removes that invulnerability. The altar timer rotates altar spawns every 20 seconds.
Cleansing Unit pressure The encounter tracks Cleansing Units and keeps spawning them while the count is below 10. They are not bosses; treat them as control adds.
Living Magma targets Gorath marks up to four targets and sends Living Magma balls at them. The balls are invulnerable and should be handled by movement and cleanup, not by tunneling them.
Purge Construct charge At high challenge levels Gorath spawns a Purge Construct and starts a 25-second timer. If it is still alive when the timer expires, the script fires CHARGE COMPLETE and damages units in the arena.
